Lasers / Optical Parametric Oscillators and Amplifiers

Ultrafast laser systems: (a) Ti:sapphire oscillators and amplifiers [Home-built and Commercial (Tsunami), fsec & psec)] (b) Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate OPO (Home-built, fsec and psec) (c) MICRA femtosecond oscillator (tunable around 800 nm; 15-150 fsec pulses) (d) Legend, Ultrafast amplifiers (2 ps and 40 fs) (e) Light Conversion Optical Parametric Amplifier + Difference Frequency Generation units (2 ps and 40 fs) tunable from 230 nm to 20.0 microns

Other laser systems: (a) Innolas Nd:YAG + Radiant Dye laser (tunable from 300 nm to 3.0 microns), (b) cwOPO (PPLN) (c) Nd:YAG (nsec and psec; COHERENT), Nd:YVO4, (d) Tunable organic Dye (home-built), He-Ne, Ar+ ion, Tunable Diode lasers (Agilent, JDSU Agility).

Optical Spectrum Analyzers (Agilent, IST Rees), Agilent Mainframe 8164A, Optical and Stereo-Zoom Microscopes, High-resolution visible CCD (Q-Imaging) and infrared Vidicon Cameras, IR Viewers, Liquid nitrogen cooled Mercury Cadmium Telluride detector, Power/Energy Meters, Visible and near-infrared Monochromators, Si/Ge/InGaAs Photodiodes, UV-Visible USB spectrometer (Ocean Optics); Metricon Prism Coupler (2010 model), Single Shot Autocorrelator, Laser Beam Profiler (Sphiricon), High-energy laser attenuators (ns, fs).

Good acquaintance with BeamPROP (for photonic component properties simulation), SRIM (Stopping Range of Ions in Matter), MATHCAD, MATLAB, ORIGIN, IMSL, LABVIEW, MS- WORD, POWERPOINT, EXCEL, and SNLO. Good knowledge of programming with C, FORTRAN languages and different computer operating systems (Itanium, Pentium, UNIX, Linux).

Degenerate Four Wave Mixing in solutions / thin films using nsec / psec / fsec pulses, Z-scan, Electric Field Induced Second Harmonic Generation, Pump-probe Techniques, Second Harmonic Generation/Sum Frequency Generation/Difference Frequency Generation in Nonlinear Optical Crystals/Waveguides, Linear and Nonlinear Waveguide characterization, Thin film coating, Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy, THz generation & Detection.
